Shrimp and Grits...

Lol, considered a standard on the breakfast table in the "Dirty" on Saturdays and Sundays.  Now its a delicacy in high end restaurants and $25-30 a plate.  I had the pleasure of dining with friends over the weekend and this was the topic of conversation.

What is shrimp and grits? The same as fish and grits depending on where you live. I remember growing up and awakening to the smell of fried fish, grits and biscuits...I knew it was the weekend. It was a fast, cheap (if you were skilled with the fishing pole) and a hearty meal.

In my family, it is a kind of a go-to treatment for any fish leftovers- oysters, shrimp, etc.  It tastes better the second day.  If you add cheese to the grits it becomes almost like a miracle.

In the famous words of Outkast..."If you like Fish and Grits and all that pimp shit, everybody let me here you say Oh yayer"
