Its Britney Biatch!... and Rihanna, the Perfect bad Girl combo! Girl power Rocks

The original bad girl herself has teamed up with the RudeGAL in the S&M remix.

The collaboration came about after Rihanna asked her fans on Twitter who they would like to see her collaborate with and the overwhelming response was Britney Spears. The remix of the song, which stands for “Sadism & Masochism” or “Sex & Media” (if you let Rihanna tell it), surfaced on Top 40 radio stations yesterday.

Remember Shyne?

Rapper Shyne, former Diddy prodigy who took the rap for the night club shooting in which Diddy and then girlfriend J.LO were in attendence. Nine years later, he is released from prison and planning a comeback...
Old Shyne

New Shyne

Rapper Shyne is becoming one of the most interesting characters in hip hop. Following his release from prison after serving a 9 year stint for a club shooting in which Diddy and then girlfriend Jennifer Lopez were guests, Shyne was deported and sent home to Belize. Now he lives in Jerusalem as an Orthodox Jew under his new name, Moses Levi Ben David.
So what has he been up to since his release? According to reports, he will be releasing an album in May through Def Jam. In the meantime, Superstar J and Nina B of Superstar Radio caught up with him via Skype and he discussed everything from being inspired by Drake to his disdain for Rick Ross. He also addressed critics of his new sound.

On Drake
I think the Drake kid has serious potential to go down in history of rap. I definitely get inspired. He’s not really a rapper, he’s a musician. He sings, he makes great music. I’m definitely inspired by what he does.

On critics of his new sound
I don’t have time to sit there and come up with a personality or come up with a character. Whatever you hear, is what came out. I don’t have time to fight what’s coming out. I think it sounds good, I like the way I’m flowing to the records. Art has always been subjective. It was never guaranteed that you were going to come out with a record and everybody was going to love it. We need to do a quick recap of history as to when I first came out. When I first came out everybody screaming blasphemy, “Oh, he’s trying to be like B.I.G….Oh, what’s Puff doing over there Oh, we hate this guy.” It took song after song, performance after performance after interview after videos….It took a real campaign for people to be like “Yo, alright I’m jacking this dude, I understand it, I get it. That’s Shyne, that’s who he is, I’m feeling this dude…” It took like an entire year, an entire trial and decade, it took a while for the audience to grow with me and really understand me.

On If He’d Bring The “Old Shyne”
You have to understand the difference between me and the difference between everybody else. I was talking to Fat Joe the other day and he was like “Yo, it’s entertainment” and I was like that’s the difference between me and a former correctional officer or any of these other dudes.

On Rick Ross
I’m the real larry Hoover, these rap dudes is J. Edgar Hoover [...] He’s not no drug lord, he’s not no teflon don. You gone sell records based on people who really suffered, people that’s really running those streets. There are dudes that are really running from the police because they moved hundreds and thousands of kilos. The real people doing that aren’t doing it ’cause they want to but because its a means to feed their families. So for you to be a dude on the other side of that locking those dudes in…To be making records about that is ridicilous.”

On being very selective on whom he chooses to work with
I try to stay away from certain people. I’m really about truth, so if you’re lying and if you’re not who you say you are, I really can’t have anything to do with you. So most of the people I interact with are honest people. They are who they are. Drake is a kid that says, “Listen, I’m not from the streets, I’m just making good music.” Kanye is a dude that doesn’t try to be anything other than who he is. Wayne is really off the block. All the kids that I respect and admire are truthful people. I like the kid Lupe Fiasco, I think he’s extraordinary. I’m really about truth. If you’re being honest and you have integrity, I’m all for you.

I'm all for a comeback but I'm not sure how much of one it will be...hiphop is dead the way we remember it, you have to be able to sing in between your rap verses now or have someone singing the hook...smh

ON BEAUTY...Smashbox Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer

My girlfriend in LA recommended using a tinted moisturizer for some time instead of a full coverage foundation. She uses Bobbi Brown (which my Sephora does not carry?), so Smashbox had to do. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. It went on smooth, very light weight and provided a hint of color. I haven't worn it out yet but today will be the day. I will be reviewing Smashbox and the Bobbi Brown tinted moisturizer soon. Pics to follow. After while...fishies

PS. Not sure how much S&H will factor in the cost from Amazon, but I paid $30 in the store...

First we pray, then we Ride...RIP Nate Dogg

One of the most distinct voices of the G-funk era in hip-hop, rapper Nate Dogg, passed away yesterday, March 15th, the rapper's family confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter. He was 41. Nate Dogg, born Nathaniel D. Hale, had suffered strokes in both 2007 and 2008, but his cause of death was unclear at press time. Often recruited to adorn choruses in Death Row Records' glory days, Nate Dogg exploded onto the music scene as Warren G's gat-busting partner-in-crime on the hit "Regulate." Nate also frequently collaborated with his high school friend Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Tupac Shakur, Eminem, and 50 Cent.

The biggest tracks to feature Nate Dogg, a four-time Grammy nominee, include Dr. Dre's "The Next Episode," Ludacris' "Area Codes," 50 Cent's "21 Questions," Eminem's "Shake That" and, our personal favorite, his own solo track "Never Leave Me Alone" with Snoop Dogg. In addition to appearing on every great rap album from The Chronic to Doggystyle to All Eyez on Me to Get Rich or Die Tryin', Nate released three solo albums on his own. He also made the "Eastside Hotel" one of the most famous locales in hip-hop history.

"We lost a true legend in hip-hop and R&B. One of my best friends and a brother to me since 1986 when I was a sophomore at Poly High where we met," Snoop Dogg said on Twitter. "You will always be with me forever and a day. You put the 'G' in 'G funk', you put the '1' in '213' and you put your stamp on everybody you ever did it with. I miss you because I am so sad but so happy I got to grow up with you, and I will see you again in heaven, because you know the slogan about 'all doggs go to heaven.' "

#thingsthatdontgotogether...Facebook and Relationships

I'm lmao at this tweet from Dave Chappelle and it is so true. I have a friend who's girlfriend deletes her FB account when they break up, only to put it back up again when they make up. How childish is that? Facebook is not where you air your problems PEOPLE! Needless to say, her account is deleted.

Put down the LBD and grab color! Beyonce wins with this one.

On date night, we have a tendency to go with our Janet Jackson black when in all actuality, we could all benefit from a pop of color.  Beyonce wins with the cute little number. Its very classy but also sexy.

ON BEAUTY...Nude lips for the summer

A nude lip color is the perfect companion for heavy eye makeup or just a simple all-around “I’m naturally this good looking” understated look. But “nude” is totally dependent on an individual’s skin tone and not everyone can wear a light creme beige as their nude. I’ve put together a quick guide with a few shade suggestions to help you find your nude. Check it out.
Nude lip color tips:
1. Be sure your lips are properly exfoliated (rub a wet toothbrush over your lips) and moisturized (Chapstick will do, but for super-dry lips try Clinique All About Lips orElizabeth Arden 8 Hour Skin Protectant).
2. Add color somewhere on your face to avoid looking washed out. A natural makeup look with tones that mirror your skin tone is pretty, but add a bright blush or eye color to liven things up.
Bobbi Brown (abbreviated below as BB) is a great line to start with when looking for your perfect nude. Many of Bobbi’s looks are based on “natural” pretty makeup so many nudes across the color spectrum are included in the line.

Light Olive Skin: (think Kim Kardashian) BB Uber Beige, MAC Lipstick in Freckletone
Olive Skin: (think Padma Lakshmi) BB Brownie Pink or Brown, MAC Lipstick in Cherish, MAC Lipstick in Taupe

Tan/Golden Skin: (think Jennifer Lopez to Beyonce) BB Brownie or Beige, MAC Lipstick in Freckletone, MAC Lipstick in Fresh Brew, MAC Lisptick in Velvet Teddy, MAC Lipstick in Half N’ Half
Caramel Skin: (think Halle Berry to Queen Latifah) BB Golden Brown or Heather Mauve, MAC Lipstick in Fresh Brew, MAC Lipstick in Siss, MAC Lipstick in Stay in Touch, MAC Lipstick in Touch

Dark Skin: (think Nia Long to Gabrielle Union) BB Cocoa, MAC Lustreglass in Trance Plant, MAC Lipstick in Icon, MAC Lipstick in Shitaki, NARS Lipgloss in Hustler, MAC Lipstick in Coconutty
Deep Skin: (think Kelly Rowland to Alek Wek) BB Hot Cocoa or Chocolate, MAC Lipstick in Coconutty, MAC Lustreglass in Trance Plant

ON RELATIONSHIPS...What Men Want, or so they say!

What Men Really Want In Modern Relationships

Tips on what's really on men's minds when it comes to love and sex

Women often say that men confuse them and that they are unsure what a man is really looking for. They have tried to please them in the past and it hasn't worked so no, the man can concentrate on pleasing them or leave. If the media is to be believed, many women don't care what a man is looking for anymore because they have been empowered by their own sexuality and are comfortable in their new role as sexually liberated career woman in charge of their own destiny. In which case, as long as the man wants them, that is fine.
It doesn't matter whether that view is actually true or not. What is true is that the modern man is increasingly struggling to find his place in the world. The Armed Forces and Space programs quite rightly have very highly qualified career women working in their departments and in most aspects of industry, women excel. The old male bastions are crumbling and with them their innate self respect as well as their understanding of how they should act and what they desire.
Any woman reading this may say well it's a problem for men and they should deal with it. Absolutely, but you cannot expect miracles instantly. Generations of history dictating a man's role and function cannot be decided and altered in the space of 20 years without some fallout. Few can argue against the excitement felt by women as their empowerment continues but at the same time, one must expect issues to coincide with this. And one of those as I said is the question of understanding what the modern man is looking for.
Men have started to evolve and are starting to grasp the fact that their role may not be as it once was. "Starting" is the operative word because this does not mean that there aren't large swathes of the world where men insist on being the breadwinner and women should still remain at home rearing children. It is going to take a long time to change the world. However in our western cities a change is in full swing. Men know that to find a mate they are going to have to work harder than ever before and they are aware that women call the shots far more than ever before. But this doesn't essentially change what a man is looking for.
Okay so what is a man seeking?
  • First of all a man is seeking a love-interest. This may surprise many women but men like to love and they like being loved in return. The problem is that many women come across as impassioned and cold. It is not easy to find a loving woman and it is very noticeable how many men try and hang on when they think they have found their Miss Right.
  • Men are seeking a woman who is attractive to them. Women may despair that men can be so shallow and that looks could matter so much but be careful. Men aren't necessarily looking for a catwalk model and many men don't like women who weigh 80lbs. But men do want a woman who takes pride in their appearance (though not excessively). Men are proud of having a girlfriend who looks good and I don't believe any man who says otherwise.
  • Men are looking for a trustworthy girl, someone they can have faith in and someone who will be there for them. This may sound like an odd thing to say, but the fact is, some women are not trustworthy and many are not faithful either. So many in fact that men are increasingly wary. That kiss at a  Christmas party may not count, or the flirtatious behavior with the gorgeous barman and in fact its all great fun and part of a woman's character. But reverse the situation and as a woman, you hate him doing the same. A man can never forgive a woman being unfaithful and so he is looking for someone who he really does trust.
  • Men want to make a home eventually and are looking for a woman who will be a willing sharer in home life. Women with a sociable lifestyle are attractive because they can be relied upon to keep the social diary running in a long term relationship.
  • Men are seeking women who are feminine gentle and kind because deep down the qualities that make a woman a great mother are an attraction in themselves. I am not suggesting that the man himself needs mothering, though some do, it is more the point that men seek the attributes in women that point to someone who would make a great mother to future offspring.
  • Men want women with a great sense of humor. Women often come across as uptight or too bothered by too many small details. You will sometimes hear mention of a girl who is 'one of the boys'. What this means is that she is able to fit in with their humor and is sociable and fun to be with. Such women are extremely attractive to many men. Men want to have a good time and relax when not working and so their ideal partners are women who are able to do the same.
  • Men are looking for women who retain their femininity and and are caring and kind. In recent years, aping men may be a female fashion statement, but it doesn't make them attractive. Whilst every woman in the world burps and farts and has the right to drink pints of beer, it doesn't necessarily attract them to the opposite sex. Women can get angry and say well men will just have to get used to it, but the issue is that they don't. They can just choose not to go for women who act in the same way as their drinking buddies.
  • Men want someone who is supportive. Many women are quick to criticize men in their behavior, career and set about trying to alter them and mould them. This is a crucial mistake. Men can be manipulated yes, but they see their partnerships as support systems. The best relationships work both ways in terms of support. Where a woman is not able or willing to give that support and is too quick to criticize then she may lose her man.
  • Men don't like angry women who shout. They want a woman who can debate and converse and is able to discuss. Communication is king. A fiery passionate temperament may have made you interesting and challenging on day one. But by day 500 it holds no glory whatsoever.
  • Men love a challenging woman, someone who keeps them on their toes. Men are generally lazy in relationships once they feel they're in secure territory. When a man is challenged so he does something about it. If you want to keep your man interested, keep him challenged.
  • Men are generally more reserved about sex than women. This is my experience is a fact. Men know what they like in bed and tend to stick to it. The adventurous sexual appetite in most men isn't there even if they are convinced it is. Men in reality are quite conservative. Sexually adventurous has nothing to do with having lots of partners and more to do with the things they will try with the same partner. In most test cases I have conducted, it is the man who looks for a quiet time in the bedroom and the woman who ultimately becomes bored.
  • Men want a woman who will commit to them. Though increasingly this is hard to find, it doesn't take away the wish. Men want a girlfriend who they can share with and trust and be open with. Commitment is not a one way street and therefore men are struggling to find the levels of commitment they found previously. But the need is still there.
  • Men don't want to be alone.

Feeling this one...
Oh and I heart her hair

Kelly Rowland's Skin and Makeup

While taking in the Roberto Cavalli Fall 2011 show at Milan Fashion Week, singer Kelly Rowland dressed her eyes in neutral tones with a pop of burgundy. This gorgeous eye look can be worked with virtually any lip and cheek combo and can easily go from the office (skip the burgundy) to happy hour (add the burgundy). Here’s how to get the look:
1. First be sure your brows are properly groomed. Eye makeup looks best when your eyes are framed by a great set of brows. Then take an eyeshadow base like MAC Paint in a shade close to your skin tone. An eyeshadow base will help to prolong the life of your shadow and prevent creasing.
2. Apply a muted gold shadow like MAC Gorgeous Gold on the lid and into the crease using a blending brush like MAC #224. Use a back and forth windshield wiper movement to blend. Then using a flat defining brush like MAC #252, apply a burgundy shadow like MAC Trax or Sketch in the crease. Follow the natural curve of the crease or if you don’t have a crease, create a semi-arc shape. Blend with your blending brush. Apply a matte eyeshadow (or cream concealer) 2-3 shades lighter than your skin tone on your brow bone area to define and highlight.
Line the eyes with a black pencil like Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil in Zero.
If your brows can use some extra help, gently apply a brow pencil in the sparse area. Use gentle strokes to create hair-like lines. Blend it in with a spooly or a clean mascara wand. See How to Shape and Care for Your Eyebrows for more info.
Apply 2-3 coats of mascara. Optionally, apply a pair of MAC #34 Lashes for extra effect. See How to Get Big, Flirty Lashes.
To get Kelly’s pop of color under her eyes, use a liner brush like MAC #266 and apply a bit of the burgundy shade to the lower lash line and dot the gold shadow in the inner corners of the eyes. Clean up any fallout or errors with a wet Q-tip.

Hola Fishies...time to shed our winter skin

Hopefully spring is officially here, though in some parts of the US it may not feel like it, nevertheless, its March and time to start preparing for summer skin. Every pinkfishie needs a pair of exfoliating body gloves...this is a must.  I can not tell you how smooth your body feels (especially your butt!) when you use these gloves. I use them in the shower with my favorite exfoliating scrub/body wash at least one a week. WARNING!!! Always use them before shaving, waxing or using  a depilatory(Ouch!) and follow with you fave body moisturizer.  My picks:

Let's just say... I'll rock a weave!!

Every woman must have a good collection of hair. Whether its just for fashion, fun or protective styling you must keep your weave tight.

My all time hair crush

I heart her hair.

And we can't forget our newest hair crush

The verdict is still out on Ms. Williams, she says its all hers...(Mmmnnn huh!)

Tips from Ediese's Weave Manual:

1. After you take out your sew-in, DO NOT WASH YOUR HAIR before you properly detangle and get out ALL shed hair. (Trust me, you will have a MAJOR setback if you do not listen to that one rule). I learned the hard way. My cousin advised me against it, and I told her that I have that 'good' hair, so my hair will surely not tangle. Well let me tell you...as soon as water hit my hair, it formed locs and got really matted. I had to chop out huge chunks of hair.

2. Do not let the stylist braid your hair or sew in the weave too tight. You'll know because aside from the major migraine that you'll experience, you'll see a lot of white bulbs on the tip of many strands along your hairline. This means that hair has been pulled out because of the tension. Also, tiny bumps will form in the back of your head. Silly me...I already know this, but I'm suffering from this right now. I need to listen to my own advice. I have two months to nurture my hairline.

3. It is not recommended that you wear your install for more than three months. I wore an install for four months this year, and thankfully I took it out when it first started to matt up, so I didn't lose any hair. The longer your leave the install coupled with the frequent washing + airdrying, shed hair, etc. will cause your hair to matt up over time.

4. Do not trust just ANYONE to take out your install. I always take out my installs by myself. I can't say that I don't trust her, but I don't even let my sister take it out. This way, if I happen to mistakenly cut my hair...oh well...at least I was the one that did it. Also, I'm much more patient, and can afford to take the extra 2+ hours to carefully take it down. I doubt a stylist will be that careful.

5. If you are planning to leave your install in for three months, you might want to rethink frequent washing and cowashing. I usually wash once per week, but sometimes I change it up to once every two weeks. Again, frequent washing and airdrying, product buildup, etc, might cause your hair to get matted..eer on the side of caution. (this is especially true for those with natural hair)

6. If you are getting a full sew-in with no hair left out, ask your stylist not to braid the baby hairs or the really short strands around your hairline. Trust me..this is the first time that I've had a full head sew-in with everything braided, and my hairline is missing. She braided every strand, and now I"m having to baby that area.

7. It is normal for you to see lots of hair in your comb after you take out your sew-in. Remember, you did have your hair braided for x time, and what you're seeing is most likely shed hair.

8. Try to do a protein treatment prior to the sew-in, and when you take it down. This helps to strengthen your hair.

9. It's also recommended that you at least wait 1-2 weeks before you reinstall another sew-in. This gives you an opportunity to give your real hair that much needed TLC.

10. Have fun with your weave! Remember there are so many different styles that you can achieve with a weave without damaging your real hair. Do you want some blonde highlights, a curly or wet n' wavy look, or perhaps a pixie cut? Go ahead, and weave it up! Um..you might want to stick with something that will look more natural though. If you're 4a or 4b, you might want to stay about from silky straight hair.

11. Oh yeah...please stop patting your weave in public! If you haven't noticed, the whole weave moves like it's a wig.

12. If you're relaxed, this is a good way to stretch your relaxers. You don't have to keep relaxing your entire head when you take down an install. If it's going to be braided up anyway, what's the point?

13. Do NOT use hair glue unless you want to be permanently bald, hair glue is a no no. (tip from Ms. Devo) If you're not interested in getting a sew-in weave, please try out the clip in extensions before getting a bonded weave. If you still go ahead and get bonded weave, please take all necessary steps in taking it out so you don't lose hair in the process.

14. Tips on washing hair while you have a weave:
I picked up this great tip from someone on BHM. Put your shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner in separate water/applicator bottles. Dilute it with water, and pour it over your head so it reaches your braids. Gently massage your scalp, and rinse thoroughly. This works great!

15. This is the regimen that I follow when I have my sew-in. Remember I switch it up, and sometimes only wash every two weeks.
Wash 1x week with Creme of Nature (white bottle with green cap)
Condition w/ Mane N Tail
DC 1x week Pantene Pro V relaxed and natural dc mask (really good slip)
Leave in conditioner - Infusium 23
Moisturize every day by spraying a glyercin and water mix to by braids and to the hair that's left out. I also seal the ends of the hair that's left out with castor oil.
Clarify 1x month w/Suave clarifying shampoo

16. What are good brand weaves?
Inexpensive Beauty Supply Store Brands:
Sensational Premium Now
Sensational Outre Goddess Remi
A little more Expensive, but very worth it (You can reuse these. Google them to find them on the net):
Extensions Plus relaxed texture
Halleys Curls relaxed texture
Wagmans
Indique
Belle Noir

17. If you can't (or won't) spend the time DAILY to blend your real hair and the weave hair ............get a FULL HEAD weave (where all of your real hair to tuck out of sight)! Walking around with two different textures or colors...not only scream WEAVE it also is just plain tacky! (Tip by CurliDiva)

18. Buy vent brush or comb with you and USE IT regularly! A weave needs to be styled (either with a comb, brush or my your hands). Do not walk around with a tangled head of yaki hair that looks like you haven't touch it since you rolled out of bed. (Tip by CurliDiva)

19. It is possible to wear a "glued" weave without losing hair - but I definitely would not recommend using that nasty black glue (grey bottle with red tip). If you want a glued weave use Liquid Gold with Airflex strips. I did that with no problem at all. (Tip by Soulie) -----STAY AWAY FROM THE GLUE!!

20. To remove a sewn weave - don't use scissors - use a seam ripper to break the thread, then use a bobby pin, comb tail, or fingernail to pick the thread out. It takes a little longer, but there is no cut hair. (Tip by Soulie)

21. Invest in quality hair such as Extensions Plus, Nature Girl or Wagmans. All of them maintain their quality over time (even can be reused). This will reduce the amount of tugging against your own braids from attempting to detangle. (Tip by Soulie)

22. Wait at least 7-10 days after taking out your install before geting a touch up relaxer. For the same reason as number 9. (Tip by Bermudabeauty)

23. Tips on blending natural/transitioning hair with weave. If you bought a curly/kinky weave and you're natural, you might want to try using flexi rods or trying a braidout on the hair that you left out. That will help blend your hair with the weave. If you bought a straight weave, you'll more than likely have to constantly straighten it so that it blends in with the weave.
